Hidden treasures

Strange what you will find in life when you start searching for hidden treasures.

You might be the guy or girl who walks around with their eyes wide shut, with their mouths wide open, with their hearts locked up in a cage and always quick to complain about how crappy their lives are, not realising that at the end of the day, it's actually your choice if your life is good or bad.

You choose if you want to buy into sorrow, into hurt, into loneliness. You get to choose if you keep holding on to the past or to let go and change the way you feel about it. You get to choose whether or not you smile when you wake up in the morning, whether or not you cry when you look in the mirror, whether or not you have a good day or a bad one, it's your choice to make!!

But instead you hold on to something you had and lost, something you don't want back, but still find comfort with it, instead of moving on, instead of letting go. You still behave exactly the same as you did in the past, coloring your hair or wearing your glasses, or painting your nails black, and coming up with a lame excuse for doing it, but actually deep down you know why you did it, because you are holding on to the past!

Open your eyes, let loose your heart, discover the greatest hidden treasure there is in the world, and that is you!! and don't go looking for it at the bottom of a whisky bottle...

You'd be surprised at how much you can surprise yourself!

Keep your friends close....

Friends are the most amazing, weird and wonderful things you'll ever have in your life. And the better you get to know them, the more you'll be amazed...

You might think you know someone, then they surprise you. You might think you know yourself and then you surprise yourself, that happens too.

But the logic thing to remember, is to put yourself in their shoes for one second. Life doesn't revolve around you and all your whisky drinking problems, there are other people with other problems out there.

This is an important thing to remember. You think what different than all your friends, your head is way more screwed up than anyone else's. The reason being that it's only you who knows what's really going on in there. And don't tell me you have clean and pure thoughts all the time. Don't tell me you won't fight for what you believe in!

We are all in this life with our own messed up little idea of life, with all our own baggage, all our own scars. We are all right and we are all wrong. We all make mistakes and we all achieve something from it. We all fight a war, even if it's against your closest friend.

But if you are fighting a war for one of your friends, because deep down you truly care about them, then keep on going. They may not see what you're doing or understand it at first. As long as it has nothing to do with them personally. Personal battles are fought alone!!

Never betray your friends! Let them know what your feelings are and why you feel that way. And if you hurt your friend, say sorry. Fix the problem!!

You won't regret it

Sooner or later...

You can run home for a long time, but sooner or later, gonna cut you down! - Johnny Cash

You might think that you can run away from everything, all your mistakes, all your emotions, but guess what? If you run, it only gets worse! It always catches up to you...

Everything that's done in the dark, will be brought to the light, and then you have to face it. Then the music's playing in your face! You can't run from that! You can't wish that away or cover it in whisky, you are brought to your knees and need to stand up and face your demons.

Sooner or later in life, all the things you did and hid from the world, will be brought forward for everyone to see. So why hide? Why be the person who likes the idea of someone and when that someone actually likes you, you turn your back on them? Why be the person who can't shut the closet door because of all the skeletons creeping in the dark? They will come to life and haunt you until the day you die...

So, here's a song for all of you who likes to disagree with me

Hold your balance

You might look at this picture and think that this has no meaning or resemblance to you whatsoever, but it has...

Think of it as choices or phases in your life. All stacking up to create the person you are. And if this isn't in perfect balance, this tower is going to fall.

So, what's my point here exactly?

My point is simple. Get your balance in life right, then hold it there. Sometimes we say yes to things we really want or need, other times we say no to those things. Sometimes we let other people make the choices for us, which isn't a good idea at all!

If you know what you want and you know what will make you happy, say yes to those things and no to the things that will keep you from getting there. This means that sometimes in life you have to be a hard ass, you have to be a bitch, you have to be rude, you have to be cruel. Even the people that never frown eventually breaks down. This part of who you are, and all of us have that dark side in us. You have to use it to your advantage.

And no, this isn't the alter ego you go in to when you had too much whisky, this is the part in you that only you know, only you see, only a few people experience and only you can use.

Great expectations

One thing we can't help but having, is great expectations.

Some of us have learned not to expect anything in life, which in my opinion, is the way to go. Then nobody can disappoint you in any way and nobody have to live up to your expectations.

Yes, you might argue that without any expectations in life, you won't get anywhere, which is true in a way, but only when it comes to the person staring back at you in the mirror.

You gotta have high expectations of yourself, aiming for your goals and dreams in life, otherwise you won't ever get closer to reaching them. But what about other people? Back to my statement I made earlier...

Have you ever felt let down or disappointed at the end of the day? Wondering why someone did or didn't do something, wondering why they didn't do the things you expected them to do? Surprisingly, that feeling leaves you feeling down and out, not the person who disappointed you. So, you take another shot of whisky to drown your dislike that you created in your mind.

If you're not following me on this one, do yourself a favour and watch 500 days of summer. After that, you'll get my drift.

Expectations lead to disappointment, which leads to you seeking attention from the person who disappointed you, which then leads into something that neither of you wished for.

Be careful what you wish for
Sh4d0w5

You just want the attention

Sometimes in life, you find yourself searching for something, but you don't really know what you're searching for. You stumble and fall over the littlest things without even really knowing what's going on around you, but at the end you find yourself seeking only one word, attention.

So, you would do things you don't normally do just to draw attention to yourself, making you feel a little bit better, but not filling you up. So, what's left?

You resort to something you think would "help" the situation, driving to the bottle store ad buying the most expensive whisky you can get your hands on and then finishing the bottle all on your own. Some people even resort to suicide, as if that solves anything, but then they get their hour of attention and then life goes on.

Yes, I am cruel in saying that, but that's how life is, cruel. You either find a way to keep your head above the water or you drown, your choice. You either create a life where you can find yourself each and every day, without having to do something stupid to survive, or you go out and draw attention to yourself the whole time, making people not liking you any more.

So, ask yourself, do you only seek attention in life, or can you live without it?

Wild Weekend #15

Monday morning blues...

How it makes you long and wish that it was still weekend?

And why, might you ask? Because weekends are thebest time of the week, as simple as that!

No work to go to, no boss to face, no school to attend, no classes to worry about, weekends are there for you to decide what you want to do for the day. And if you're a weekend warrior like me, that decision is pretty easy... Where do we party this weekend?

Yeah, some weekends I miss out on parties, purely for the fact that either my finances don't allow it or my fingers wish to make my guitars sing instead of holding on to a glass of whisky. But still, every weekend needs to be filled with good company!

I missed out on partying this weekend, but not on friends. I certainly missed out on other things as well, like spending some time with someone you really wish to spend it with, but there's another weekend around the bend, and before we know it, you'll be reading another wild weekend blog post on Monday, probably telling you about how hectic my weekend went down;)

Well, I guess you can only hope, right?

Good luck to all of you finishing off your exams and getting ready foor the holidays! Study hard, own your exam, feel proud and walk out of there with a smile on your face!

Sincerely yours

The ugly truth

The funny thing about the truth, and I've heard this in a movie and totally agree with it, the truth will set you free, but first it's gonna piss you off!

It's always truth or consequence, a choice you have to make in life everyday. You can either tell the truth or face the consequences of your lies. So, have a pick...

Have you ever wondered why you break up with someone or find yourself knee-deep in quicksand and sinking fast? Most of the time, it's because of lies. And not someone else's lies, but your own.

Yes, the time you told your girlfriend you were only drinking Coke, but actually had a strong shot of whisky mixed in with it? That's a lie, which probably caught up with you the moment you kissed her goodnight and she tasted the whisky. Then you had to lie some more about how the whisky got into your Coke in the first place, then some more lies as to where you got the whisky. Luckily, all of this can be avoided if your girlfriend drinks more than you do;)

So, here the top tip of the day to all the alcoholics reading this, get a girl that drinks more than you!!! You'll never have fights and just have a great time instead!

And to those who like to keep on the straight and narrow, don't tell a lie ever again to those who you love!! It's the easiest and fastest way of losing them! Rather be straight up and let them know what's going for what, than to lie your way out of something that will come back to haunt you later on!

My hero

As a little kid, you probably had some kind of hero you looked up to, it could have been in any form, shape or size.

It could have been a rockstar, a sport superstar, or even your dad or mom, but you had someone you looked up to and pitted all your faith into that person.

This person pronanly had a big influence in what you wanted to become when you are all grown up. You maybe wanted to be a fire fighter just like your dad or a vet just like your mom?

My hero was Michael Schumacher. I saw his first race when I was 3 years old and decided that I wanted to be a Formula 1 driver, so I really tried, but sometimes there are things in life that keeps you from accomplishing your dreams. Things you can't do anything about.

But then music came along and bit in the ass, infected my life and made me grow my hair. Now all I want to do, is play my guitar everyday. Strange how life always seem to work out in some way or another.

The point I want to make, is that when you were little, you had wonderful dreams and aspirations, now that you're older, some of those might have come true, other might have faded away, but life is a journey, not a destination. So, keep dreaming, keep thinking beyond anything you think you'll ever accomplish in life, because the higher you aim, the higher you'll achieve.

Have a whisky and dream your day away, give yourself something to work for, make yourself the hero someone else looks up to, inspire people with your actions, give more than you take and become the person you've always wanted to be!

There goes my hero, watch him as he goes!

Promise me you won't let them put out your fire

We all have something burning deep inside of us, something that drives us to do things in life. I'd like to call it our passion in life.

For some, it is to party their hearts out, drinks whisky and tequila, and then puke their lungs out. Nothing wrong with that picture, right?

For others, it's more of a lifestyle. People, like me, who has a passion for something they can build their lives around, in my case it would be music.

Then, of course. our dreams. You might think they are something you'd never accomplish, or something you want to accomplish with someone special, or even something you strive to achieve in your lifetime. You can never let those dreams fade!

The last fire I want to talk about, is the one we call burning desires. Yes, most of the time, these are the ones you only keep to yourself, because they are the most personal. And sometimes it happens that someone fulfills that desire, putting you on cloud 9 for the next couple of days. Usually you'll end up running back to that someone and let them do it again, whatever it is;)

So, here's my advice, don't ever let the fire inside of you burn out! Don't ever let someone or something put that fire underneath a bucket where no-one can see it! Live out your passions in life, share your heart with those who will ignite your inner fires and hold on to them!

The one and only

You've woken up the beast

You might think that this has never happened to you before, that you can not tap into your emotions, more specifically your anger, and get it to work for you.

Well, if you see yourself as the perfect human being, good for you. For the rest of us perfectly flawed creatures, emotions form part of who we are. And yes, girls more than guys, much more, but don't think for one second we are incapable of feelings and emotions.

We might not cry as much as you, or experience as much mood swings, but we have a different kind of thing to deal with. That's why this picture speaks a thousand words to me, seeing as it represents the nature of our emotions.

Guys have anger going for them, and believe me, we have an abundance of it. Sometimes anger leads us to do something we regret and we have to face the consequences of our actions. Most of the times, guys just resort to the whisky bottle, but it's very rare that you'll get a guy that has the little thing called self-control.

Now, on the other side, girls who become ice queens when something doesn't go their way. Again, you might think you're not like this, but what about the time you just ignored the poor guy who showed interest? Or decided to be a bitch, just because you can, about something someone did? Yeah, you've been down that road, right?

So, here's a little tip, seeing that it's fire and ice against each other, keep the balance! Fight fire with ice and fight ice with fire, but if the fire isn't a wild forest fire, there's no need to attack with a blizzard! If the fire is warm and inviting, let the ice melt and give in to the fire.

Still walking beside you

What lies ahead

Life is something we all give a different meaning or comparison to. Some people say that life is a song, others think life is a road, either way, if you're singing or driving, life stays life.

But one thing is certain, we don't always know what lies ahead.

Most of us like to be surprised, others like to be the control freak, some even organise their own surprises, but I would classify myself as someone who wants to have a good and happy life, taking it one step at a time and not falling into a hole you can't dig yourself out of.

Why should you force something onto someone? Why would you take it if someone else puts you where you don't want to be? Yes, we make mistakes, but if honesty can cure the problem, what's stopping you? Time will reveal everything. Just make sure that when it is the right time, you are where you wish to be, and not having a nap on the couch with a whisky glass in your hand!

So, keep the people close that warms your heart and get rid of scum that doesn't deserve a moment of your time! Make your choices carefully and be honest about your feelings. You'll be surprised at how life turns out to be, I know I am.

And you know why;)

Sometimes I feel I've got to run away

A shared emotion among everyone who've been through the roads of life and survived to tell a story.

It sounds a bit dramatic, actually. But hey, no one gets out of life alive, right?

You'll find yourself running to something or someone, then the next moment running away from them. Or you'll be the one who someone runs to and then suddenly run away from. Either way, someone's doing the running...

And the simple question to this is, why? Why do you run to something then turn your back on it? Did it disappoint you in some way, did it hurt you? Or did it care more about the whisky than you?

The pure and simple answer to this, is a question you need to ask yourself. Why did you run toward it in the first place? Maybe curiosity got the better of you, maybe it looked so "beautiful", almost like the light in A Bug's Life, maybe you thought this is what would make you happy. One thing is certain, you got to let yourself make mistakes.

In the end, it's who we are, the product of our own mistakes. This means when you made one, do NOT run away! Face it. There will always be someone who will hold you tight while you ho through the deepest and darkest in life, but you have to learn out of your mistakes and face them with a burning desire to overcome them.

The one who never leaves your side

It's a kind of Magic!

You don't have to a magician to see that life has something magical in it. Something that can put a smile on your face or leave you filled with wonder.

When I was a little kid, I usually couldn't wait for the rain to come, because every time the rain stopped, I'd find a rainbow somewhere in the sky.

Yes, I know the mind of a child is simple, that's why my mom could tell me anything and I'd believe her, that is, after I wrote on the wall and found out that she WILL punish me, like she said. Weird how moms and dads always have that little thing in them to predict the future...

Still, the rain always brought something special to me. Seeing that my birthday is in the last week of October, it'll always rain on my birthday. And that was something I treasured as a young one. And still today, when it rains on my birthday, it takes me back to a magical place and puts a smile on my face.

So, what takes you to that place where you can just let go and give the world a smile? And no, whisky doesn't count as an answer!!

Time to vanish...

Are you a dreamer?

Yes, we've all had a couple of dreams in our lives, and I'm not talking about dreams as in life goals or something you really want in life, I'm talking about dreams. You know, the ones you get when you go to sleep? Yeah, those ones.

Some people believe that what happens in your dreams, is a direct reflection of your subconscious mind, which in some part, I can truly believe and relate to. But where does the other side of the coin come from?

You know, the times when you're dreaming something totally weird and awkward? Are those creatures also living in your mind? Or is it your imagination that's running wild?

Either way, dreams are something we have and sometimes can relate to. Dreams are powerful and can spawn ideas or throw you onto something you didn't expect. I, for one, have dreams every time I close my eyes and fall asleep. It doesn't matter where I am or how tired I am or even how much I enjoyed the whisky, dreams come all the time.

Something I find really interesting, is keeping a dream journal. A lot of people do it and I think it's pretty clever. I tried it for a week, and I could just remember three dreams out of the seven, so I wrote them down. And I read them again, I'll probably go back to that time in my life and remember all the good and bad stuff. But hey, such is life.

Keep on dreaming!

All the lights have faded

Here's a question some people do not like to answer. What happens when the lights go off?

This question could imply two things. It can firstly refer to when your day comes to an end and you turn off the lights before you go to sleep at night.

Usually, I'd sneak in a little shot of whisky before hitting the hay, doctor's orders;) But I'm sure some of you might have some deep dark secret ritual you go through before going to sleep, right?

And then one day when you tell someone, they think you're a total freak, because you like puffing your pillow with your feet and then putting some sweet aroma on it before you close your eyes. Or maybe you have a rain machine? Haha some people are weird...

But the other side of the coin, when the lights go off, refers to you dying. What happens then?

Some people claim they've been there and came back. You know, the people who wrote books about their "dead" experience, claiming they went to Heaven and then hell, comparing the two and desperately asking you to change your ways and live a good life.

Personally, I don't agree with them. I'm not saying it didn't happen, I'm just saying that we all have our time on earth and when it's done, it's done. Yes, live a good life, enjoy yourself, serve others, and make sure when your day comes, you're on the road you wished to be.

One day we'll know all the answers

Would I be out of line if I say I miss you?

Even if you're a wild child, this happens too. No matter how you live your life, how many people you know, how you look or what job you do, we all have our moments where we feel like this.

We all wake up one day in a free-formed Utopian dream, thinking life couldn't get any better than this. So what do we do? Some of us celebrate too hard and get home with a whisky breath, others enjoy the moment and get too attached to it, but most of us just mess it up, and we can't explain why.

So, then we wake up alone again, thinking what the hell went wrong and spending the rest of the month trying to figure it out. It's human to miss something or someone and no one says it's easy to change and adapt. Luckily, that's one thing we humans are good at...

Still, sometimes we get them back in some way or another, just to realize we made the same mistake. But I guess that's how life goes. But don't ever look back! Chin up, find your inner aggresion, release it, let go of the heartache and combust into someone new.

So, pardon me while I burst into flames

Fabulous Fridays

Don't we all love Fridays? I know I do...

The end of the week, tuning down at work, firing up at home and heating up for a night out! That's usually the MO for a healthy Friday, right?

And when the night falls, it's time to kick off in an orderly fashion! PARTY!! Time to let go of all the emotions, forget about all the rubbish, let loose on the whisky and go mad!

A lot of us do crazy, and I mean crazy stuff over a weekend. I knew a girl once, very very shy girl. One night I tagged along with a couple of friends and I found her there lying down on a table and beiing the one the guys used for body shots! Intersting how life works...

Some time later she started going wild, dancing on the tables, buying everyone drinks, and the most interesting fact of all, she didn't even have a drop of alcohol in her! I guess it's true what they say, it's the shy girls who will surprise you the most;)

Any shy girls reading this, please go bonkers tonight? Surprise the people around you for a change, tear that little box up! Just make sure you invite me to the whole thing, I want some new "material" if you know waht I mean...

Have a wild weekend

Another day for you and me in Paradise

All of us seek Paradise. All of us think tomorrow will bring so much more than today. We have hopes and dreams for tomorrow but we forget about today.

That's the first thing that needs to change in people's minds. Life doesn't get better as time goes on, so come to the wild side! Live a little! See what life really has in store and stop dreaming about a future that will never come to exist.

Some of the guys take a THC overload to find their paradise, others cleanse their bowels with some whisky and then a few think they can find paradise in someone else who's far away. Hilarious!

Paradise is right here and right now! It's not something you find, but something you create. The more actions you take, the more progress you'll make. So, get yourself together, are you ready? Start your journey today, be wild and free, because it's just another day for you and me in paradise.

Hiding in plain sight...

This world is spinning around me...

This world is spinning around me, the whole world is spinning without me. Every day sends future to past, every breath leaves me one less to my last. - Dream Theater

Yes, a lot of us know that feeling when everything around us can't seem to fit. And most of the time, it's because you had another whisky or thought that a bottle of wine won't do you anything if you see how fast you can down it! Haha

But sometimes it's much more than that. Sometimes we strike all time highs or even all time lows, putting our worlds in a spin and making us feel like we're lost in something or someone.

Even our fears can get the best of us, giving in to our own created paranoia and desperately trying to make it all stop. Some become comfortably numb in their fear, and just learn to live with it, some embrace it and start believing that their fear will lead them to a better life. But it's only the selected few who goes beyond comfort and settling in. It's onlly those who stand up and fight with open minds and open hearts. Willing to change with the territory and facing their own faults. Making themselves better in the process and overcoming their worst enemy, which is the guy/girl looking back at you in the mirror.

"Pull me under, I'm not afraid. All that I feel, is honour and spite. All I can do, is to set it right." - Dream Theater

Make every breath count!
