Friday cometh!!

After a hectic week, we find ourselves at the end of yet another week, with the wild weekend looming around the corner!

Now, if you're familiar with the book Revelation at the end of the Bible, you might recognise the four guys in the picture, but if you don't, those are the four horsemen we read about that accompany the apocalypse.

So, you're wondering why I picked them to start off the weekend? Keep thinking about it....

While you're thinking about it, let's talk about the guy on the red horse. Do you know his name? He's called War. And he's a pretty famous guy, seeing that THQ made a game about him called Darksiders.

What makes War a special character?

Do you have an answer for me on that question? Before I give you my answer, you might have guessed it by now, but if not, I'm pretty sure you'll get it pretty quickly...

We all have own red horseman within ourselves, believe it or not. We all are capable of starting a war, we all have that fiery red desire somewhere hidden in our eyes. Some know how to use it to the best of their benefits, other like to run from it and hide the anger within, leaving it to consume them from the inside.

Which one would you be? Do you yield your rewards by fighting for it or do you take whatever is thrown at you while you're sitting in the corner crying your life away in the most shameful manner, asking everybody around you for their sympathy and making sure you get it, not realising how pathetic you have become.

But hey, who am I to judge a life that I can't change? We're not all the same, so let the red horseman lay down judgement;)

There has to be war for peace to exist

Wild weekend #2 2011

It is Monday again....

For some it's bright, for some it's blue, foe some it's just another day in our crooked world we call paradise.

So, what did you do this weekend?

Obviously, there was some partying involved, right? Maybe even some crazy people you've never met before, maybe you made some new friends? Maybe you lost some?

Well, here goes my weekend...

As life would have it, I am blessed with the best friends in the world, even though they don't realise it sometimes or forget it occasionally...

So, on a Friday night, you'll probably find me enjoying some alcoholic beverages with them, going deep into the night until the early morning hours. Then on a Saturday, you'll find me doing nothing for as long as possible, just chilling somewhere I find peace and quiet...

When Sunday comes, I'll have a guitar in my hand for the best part of 5 to 6 hours, playing until my fingers can't take anymore. And then on Monday my fingers would be rock solid from the previous day's playing. And that's a rap of how a pretty average weekend goes in my life.

So, you won't find my name in the local classifieds, though, but I do promise you a good time;)

Take me up on it...

Wild weekend #1 2011

Oh yes, believe it or not, but this is 2011!!

I hope all of you had a stellar new year's party, I know I did;)

But let's not get ahead of ourselves... I can't remember every detail of what exactly happened on new year, and what I can remember, is too explicit to share... Haha

So, let's rather talk about this weekend, shall we?

Like always, you have to go out and enjoy yourself over a weekend, otherwise you're only wasting time! So, that's what we did! Saturday night was one hell of a night with us taking over our usual lounge, having some nice alcoholic beverages while having the time of our lives!

Even the manager joined us for a while, seeing that we are practically family there...

Then Sunday came and we transformed into rockstars again, breaking down that stage in an orderly fashion;) I always salute my fellow rockers, seeing that they always do the best job on stage. I wouldn't trade that for anything!

So, it's Monday again, sitting in the office and staring out the window, wondering what this week will deliver. I guess the only way to find out, is to live it!

Kindly, truly, madly, deeply

Wild Weekend #15

Monday morning blues...

How it makes you long and wish that it was still weekend?

And why, might you ask? Because weekends are thebest time of the week, as simple as that!

No work to go to, no boss to face, no school to attend, no classes to worry about, weekends are there for you to decide what you want to do for the day. And if you're a weekend warrior like me, that decision is pretty easy... Where do we party this weekend?

Yeah, some weekends I miss out on parties, purely for the fact that either my finances don't allow it or my fingers wish to make my guitars sing instead of holding on to a glass of whisky. But still, every weekend needs to be filled with good company!

I missed out on partying this weekend, but not on friends. I certainly missed out on other things as well, like spending some time with someone you really wish to spend it with, but there's another weekend around the bend, and before we know it, you'll be reading another wild weekend blog post on Monday, probably telling you about how hectic my weekend went down;)

Well, I guess you can only hope, right?

Good luck to all of you finishing off your exams and getting ready foor the holidays! Study hard, own your exam, feel proud and walk out of there with a smile on your face!

Sincerely yours

Wow, it's Friday already?

Yes, people, believe it or not, but it's Friday!!

This week flew like a rocket past me, but I'm not complaining, seeing that it's the start of another wild weekend!

This weekend will probably be spent at home behind my guitars and pc, as the weather isn't working for the outdoors, but the indoors instead.

So, here's an idea, seeing that it's cloudy and rainy outside. If you have a cuddle-buddy, then you are pretty much fixed for the weekend, but for the rest of you out there, grab a blanket, make some popcorn, get some wine, and some dvds, and enjoy the great indoors for a change. Maybe even invite some friends over? Or a potential cuddle-buddy;)

I guess everything is just easing out towards the end of the year, people finishing up their exams, other going on holidays already, and some of us working until Christmas...

Still, it could be worse, right? So, put a smile on your face, embrace the lovely weather, kick back and enjoy your weekend!!

Life waits for no man, so make a move!

Wild Weekend #13

The worst part of any week, is to wake up on a Monday morning and realize that the weekend is gone...

Still, what we do throughout the week, pays for everything we do throughout the weekend, right?

So, Friday night started off with me playing a gig with one of the greatest musician friends I have, together with my brother. And as always, when I pick up a guitar on stage, all the world can pass, I won't notice.

Then Saturday night followed and as always, we had to go out and have a great time! And so we did! Now, if you know my brother, he likes to live life beyond the edge, so you're guaranteed a good time if he comes along.

But the thing that got me that night, was a mere glimpse into someone's eyes, almost as if I could see straight into that person's soul. Strange how you sometimes get this, seeing into someone instead of just looking at their eyes. It makes you wonder...

Sunday night was business as usual, playing a gig. That will never get old. The stage, the people in front of you, the atmosphere, and of course, my guitar that cries and bleeds and screams straight through the night. What more do you want?

So, all in all, not too bad of a weekend. It could have been something else if the "resting" people would have joined us, but I guess it was their loss, right?

Monday, bloody Monday

Wild weekend #12

Mondays feel like Ripley's... Believe it or not.

This weekend really flew by, not leaving any memories behind, just leaving me with a big blank. So, this is going to be interesting...

Most of you probably did the whole Halloween thing, leaving me to think back to Friday night.

The place we went to for drinks, really dug deep into the Halloween thing, girls with weird costumes selling shooters, guys walking around looking like the undead, all those kind of things. Fun times.

Then Saturday came, as you'd expect, it was a slow day for most of the world, seeing that Friday evening went on for quite a while. So, nothing really happened throughout the day, but when the night falls, the wild child comes out!

So, Saturday one of my friends invited me over to her house party, and yeah, it was chilled out, but at least it was fun. Then Sunday came...

Not the best of all, I admit, but I guess life has funny ways of working out, leaving yo to your mindless emotions and making you miss people you hardly know. At least Monday came, right?

May the night fall quickly

Wild weekend #11

Monday...

For the first time, I'm happy that it's Monday, seeing that it's my birthday today.

Thus, my weekend is extended by one day, because tonight is going to be wilder than anything in my weekend! So, brace yourself...

It's funny how time flies by and before you know it, you're turning 20 or 30 or even 40 years old!

So, here's a nice little pointer, enjoy life!! Go nuts, do stuff, drink expensive whisky, smile at everyone, be selfless, spread your wings and fly before it's too late!

Anything you did this weekend that will top my planned party tonight? Let me hear it and I'll share it with all the other readers.

Wild weekend #9

Yet another weekeend has come and gone and it's Monday and work again.

But what a weekend!

We've had some amazing sport going this weekend, with Vettel winning the Formula 1, and who cares about the rest?

Still, some good times. My fingers are red from the acoustic gigs over the weekend, and typing can become quite an issue when you only have one hand not complaining all the time. But it could be worse, right?

You'd think that a strong shot of whisky can cure any kind of pain, well, been there, done that. Fingertips need to heal on their own:)

Apart from me playing my fingers off this weekend, and you sitting all alone at home, not knowing what to do with yourself, it was enjoyable. Like every weekend should be!

The one with the glowing fingers

Wild weekend #8

It's a beautiful October Monday and we're all fresh and ready for a new week!

Everyone's laughing and smiling and thinking back on their weekends. And what a weekend it was, indeed!

I'm sure all of us have experienced the "home alone" weekend, right? So, what do you do on such a weekend? It's quite simple really...

You go and buy a bottle of whisky or something you really like, then you get your best friend or lover or even a full house of friends to come over and have a ball of a time. And not just for the night, for the whole weekend, baby!

Just make sure that when Monday morning comes, everything is cleaned up and all the empty bottles are thrown away, leaving no evidence for the parent police or the guy who asked you to stay in his house for the weekend while he is off to Thailand.

So, while he rode on the elephants over there, you did quite a number on his house, but hey, who has to know that, right? As long as everything is still in tact when he gets back...

Be the inspiration!

Wild weekend #7

So, it's Monday agaiin...

At least I had a good weekend! But I think the highlight was Friday evening. I went to a 21st birthday party and the theme was "super hobo', so we dressed accordingly:)

Some arrived with boards, others violated a t-shirt, one girl even wore a (clean) rubbish bag! Very original, I have to say...

If you wanted a drink, you had to search through the (clean) rubbish lying all over the floor for a full can of cooldrink. If you wanted food, you had to go and fecth it out of the (clean) dustbin! This was some party!

Some "spirits" were provided for a little alcoholic beverage, nice touch, and then the people did the rest, basically. Fun times, good crowds, great company;)

What's a weekend without a party?

Wild weekend #6

What a weekend...

It started out as a party and it ended as a party! Very seldom that this happens...

Friday morning I found myself at an amazing hotel with an amazing breakfast laying in front of me. So, what do you do in this situation? You eat, of course!!

Then, later on one of my mates invited me to join them at a buffet restaurant, where we, yes you guessed it, ate some more! Naturally, this included some alcoholic beverages;)

So, Saturday came and we decided to hit the go kart track. One thing you must remember, never challenge me in go karts! You WILL lose. Thus, I kicked ass in go karts. Then me and my brother got bored and we decided to give the track marshalls heart attacks.

So we started drifting wheel to wheel on each and every corner. The Marshall was brave enough the first time to step onto the track and give us a warning flag, but he quickly realized that my kart passes dangerously close to his leg when he does that, so he decided to just let us be. Clever boy...

Saturday evening, we did the usual, which would be a party:) Where one of the Nimrods thought it would be a good idea to throw his empty beer bottle over the wall, nearly hitting the neighbour's car. So, we threw him over the wall with a broom and an empty charcoal bag.

This was followed by a nice late Sunday morning and an awesome gig in the evening. All and all, great weekend!!

Now, back to reality

Wild Weekend #5

Can't believe it, but another weekend has come and gone. And this time, we had a little problem with authority...

But that's just the wild child way of life. Hahaha!

Saturday, what a beautiful day, me and my brother had to go and help out selling cool drinks at a carnaval. And as life goes, we're not really known for behaving. Needless to say, when ice melts, it becomes water. Which in turn becomes something you can use to be creative;)

So, we did just that, but my brother decided to go for the kill. He wet a girl from head to toes and then came the "authority" in the same basic form of Eric Cartman, just without the police outfit...

We got chased away and banned from the carnaval without even having consumed any alcoholic drinks! But when I look back at it, I'm glad it was my brother and not me, because I would have simply told the "fluffy" guy that at least I can get a girl wet;)

Think for yourself, question authority

Fabulous Fridays

Don't we all love Fridays? I know I do...

The end of the week, tuning down at work, firing up at home and heating up for a night out! That's usually the MO for a healthy Friday, right?

And when the night falls, it's time to kick off in an orderly fashion! PARTY!! Time to let go of all the emotions, forget about all the rubbish, let loose on the whisky and go mad!

A lot of us do crazy, and I mean crazy stuff over a weekend. I knew a girl once, very very shy girl. One night I tagged along with a couple of friends and I found her there lying down on a table and beiing the one the guys used for body shots! Intersting how life works...

Some time later she started going wild, dancing on the tables, buying everyone drinks, and the most interesting fact of all, she didn't even have a drop of alcohol in her! I guess it's true what they say, it's the shy girls who will surprise you the most;)

Any shy girls reading this, please go bonkers tonight? Surprise the people around you for a change, tear that little box up! Just make sure you invite me to the whole thing, I want some new "material" if you know waht I mean...

Have a wild weekend

Wild weekend #3

Yes, another weekend is gone, and we're back into the digital ocean. What a weekend this was...

Friday night was a MUST to hit the local gigs and see what's cooking. Unfortunately no-one decided to dance on the pool tables or hit someone with a chair or something;)

There was one particular thing that interested me Friday night. I went to support one of my friend's bands(as we all get invites on facebook to do so), and then I found myself in a place surrounded by old friends and having one hell of a time!

But to come back to the one thing that interested me, there was a girl(like always...), you know, the one just sitting there with her exotic drink and chatting to her friends? That one. She drank a beer that she mixed with a Red Bull(interesting, don't you think?).

Now, I'm not sure what made me talk to her, her drink or her persona, either way, both were very fascinating, and I thought to myself,"Wow, there's still hope left in this world...".

Some people give up on their dreams they had when they were little, some people come with damn good excuses not to chase after what they really want. Some people let go and think it's for the best, but this one taught me something very special. Even though most of us find ourselves wanting, we need to find our dreams. We need to find our destination and work to reach it.

It's better to be nowhere, but knowing where you want to go than to be somewhere and not having a clue where you are.

Thank you, perfect stranger

Wild weekend #2

Yes, we all got to kill our alarms yesterday morning for the public holiday, and add a day to our weekend!

I'm sure all of us enjoy spending a day irritating ourselves at home or going out with the people you call friends, but can't seem to recall why you like them?

Still, we stick to them out of fear of being left alone... Poor us! ;)

For the rest of us normal people, we usually find some way of entertainment, being in any form or any place at any time. If it's drinking something exotic with your dad or going to a movie with your future heart breaker, we find a way!

Being as it is, it was woman's day yesterday, so guys, I hoped you treated the girl in your life like she deserved to be treated! I know I did...(laughing in some sick, twisted way).

It's funny how technology allows us to create something special and then just destroying it again! But hey, that's what a wild child does the best, right? Living by his/her own set of rules and having a blast doing it! That's the key to having a wild weekend...

Opportunity knocks every day, open the damn door! :)

Wild weekend #1

So, it's Monday again. Some of you still feel like your head is the size of Jupiter, other wish it was still weekend.

Either way, the weekend is perfect for everyone to let go of any fear and hit the theme parks!

I decided to take my first pay check, drag my brother and my girlfriend to Gold Reef City, and see which one of them can scream the loudest. Needless to say, my brother sounds like an opera singer travelling at the speed of sound on those rides...

And then came the UFO, which bored me to death, until my girlfriend started having a crisis on it! So, she watched from the sidelines as my brother and I decided to play a little game in the UFO...

Too bad the Tower of Terror couldn't play host to a symphony of screams and terrifying emotion as the thing was closed when we got to it. But still, the Golden loop provided some tears, as a teenage girl in front of us came to the death-defying realisation that she's about to travel at speeds that her body won't understand and heights that her stomach won't seem to like. Poor girl, we almost laughed...

So, how was your weekend? Any weird and wonderful things you did?

Tell me all about it
